Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal hopes to bring the Portugal Forward back to Old Trafford, despite admitting he might be “Ungettable”.
Former United Legend Ronaldo Left Manchester United in 2009 for a then world record fee of £80 Million and has since become one of the world’s best players in the world with winning two FIFA Bal d’Ors and become Madrid’s all time record goalscorer.
Ronaldo, 30, has been linked with a move back to Old Trafford in the past two years and it has been strongly felt that New Madrid manager Rafa Benitez looks to build his team around Welshman Gareth Bale.
United Spent last summer trying to sign Ronaldo’s team mate Gareth Bale, however the Welsh superstar remains a target for Van Gaal.
United tried to sign current World Player of the year back in 2013 when former United manager David Moyes was in charge.
Van Gaal has recently been complaining that his team doesn’t have enough pace and saying he expected more from 25 Million signing Memphis Depay who was a replacement for Angel Di Maria, although he did score and receive a Man of the match performance win over Watford.
“We are looking at all players, not just Ronaldo. But these players are mostly ungettable.
“With Ronaldo, let’s wait and hope.
“Ronaldo plays on the wings and he is fast and scores goals. There is no trainer in the world that doesn’t like him.”
PSG is also on Ronaldo’s radar, Though Madrid’s poor efforts in signing David Dea last summer could play into United hands. Ronaldo and De Gea share the same agent Jorge Mendes. Spanish Goalkeeper signed a four year contract which tightened the clubs relationship with Mendes.
Ronaldo, a three-time FIFA world player of the year, broke Raul’s record 323 goals for Real earlier this season.
He has won one La Liga title, a Champions League crown and two Spanish Cup titles in just over six years in the Spanish capital.
Before moving to Madrid, he won three Premier League titles, one Champions League, one FA Cup and two League Cups in six seasons with former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
He moved to Old Trafford for 12 Million from Sporting Lisbon in 2003 and scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for the Red Devils.
