A truck bomb exploded in the Afghan capital today near an army compound, killing eight and wounding nearly 200 people officials have said.
There was no immediate claim for the blast which took place on Friday morning and shook the capital.

Fridays blast was unusually powerful in a city that is regularly targeted by the Taliban and other militant groups looking to destabalise the government.
Authorities fear that the death toll will rise as buildings collapsed and it is feared that people are trapped in the rubble.
The Afghan war has intensified in recent years after NATO troops withdrew, leaving the foreign backed government and the Taliban to combat each other.
