The introduction of the cycle hire scheme has made cycling more popular and is a great alternative to see the streets and sights of London.  There are plenty of docking stations around London whereby you can pay by card or cash to rent out a bike for as long or short as you like and when you’ve decided you’ve had enough you can return it at a different docking station.

A common sight in London is the open top tour buses but they charge a high price that not everyone can afford.  The alternative is to catch an ordinary double decker bus and sit on the top floor to watch the world go by.  This will cost you a fraction of the price and if you plan your journey well you can do a lot of sightseeing from the warmth of the top deck.
