Tom Cruise has confirmed in a recent interview that Mission: Impossible 6 is already in the stage of pre-production.
The actor made the comments while he was on The Daily Show, promoting Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. He gave a glimpse into some information about the next installment in the franchise.
Tom stated: ”We’re starting to work on it now. We’ll probably start shooting it next summer.”
Paramount, the studio behind the hugely popular franchise are still yet to confirm his claims.
He also hinted at a possible reprising of his role in the reboot of his 1986 film Top Gun.
”It would be fun. I would like to get back into those jets”, the 53 year old quoted.
Previously, the actor has stated on several occasions that the only way he would be up for reprising his role in the popular 80s film would be if it’s shot ”like the first one.”
Tom explained: ”It would have to be practical. I don’t want any CGI jets. I want to shoot it like how we shot the first one.”
David Ellison, the film’s producer, also commented on the possibility of another Top Gun movie and Tom’s involvement in that.
He informed: ”I think this is a movie that should be in 3D and in IMAX, and again something that you can shoot practically. As everyone knows with Tom, he is 100% going to want to be in those airplanes, shooting it practically.”
