Three inmates who were in prison for murder and attempted murder broke out of the Central Jail Complex in Orange County,California.
The escaped inmates were identified by authorities as Hossein Nayeri, 37, Jonathan Tieu, 20, and Bac Duong, 43.
The men were said to have escaped between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday. They cut through half-inch steel bars, made their way into a tunnel and then to an unsecured part of the prison’s roof.
It is suspected that other inmates made a disturbance to distract the guards during the head count.
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $30,000 reward and the FBI, $20,000 for information leading to the trio’s arrest.
