48 hours after the Leytonstone stabbing , police officers stormed a packed train when passenger’s mistook another commuters umbrella for a Samurai sword.
Half a dozen police officers are said to have boarded the busy train at Deptford station in South-East London after an alarm was raised.
The passenger in question was Ray Brown, a 22 year old digital creative from Abbey Wood. Officers soon realised the “samurai sword” was simply a harmless umbrella and the train was allowed to continue on its journey on Monday morning.
Mr Brown, who admits he has a taste for ‘quirky’ items, said: ‘That picture makes me look like I’m about to take over the train, because of the Russian hat and the Samurai sword umbrella.’
