Is X-Men: Apocalypse Too Familiar?

You would be forgiven for forgetting about X-Men: Apocalypse, with Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War stealing all of the superhero limelight ahead of their respective releases. It’s a result of the ever-growing saturation of the superhero market that certain films fall by the way side to the established titans of the genre, that have dominated the billboards and TV Spots. However, this is no damning reflection on the quality of the X-Men series that, despite a couple hiccups, has delivered a consistent string of successful movies since 2000, when they took the first steps towards a superhero domination of Hollywood.

And credit to 20th Century Fox for trying their hardest to get the X-Men name in amongst the excitement as no sooner had the furor around Spider-Man’s reveal calmed down, they release the latest trailer for Apocalypse in a bid to find some traction before Batman vs Superman’s debut next week.
