Sepp Blatter Appeals 90 Day suspension

Sepp Blatter questioned by Swiss authorities

FIFA President Sepp Blatter is currently being questioned by representatives of the attorney general of Switzerland.

This follows a statement from the attorney general's office, saying: “Swiss criminal proceedings against the President of FIFA, Mr. Joseph Blatter, have been opened on 24 September 2015 on suspicion of criminal mismanagement and – alternatively – misappropriation.”

Mr Blatter was due to speak before international press at FIFA headquarters today, following a two day executive committee meeting.

However this was first pushed back, and then cancelled without explanation, shortly after which FIFA headquarters were searched and data was seized from Mr Blatter's office.

The Swiss attorney general's office said the investigation surrounds a TV rights deal Mr Blatter signed with former Caribbean football chief Jack Warner in 2005.

Mr Blatter is also suspected of "a disloyal payment" in 2011 to UEFA president Michel Platini, the statement said.
