Shocking Headcam footage shows car driving into shooting cop

Shocking footage shows a driver in a stolen car deliberately driving into a police officer in order to try and kill him.

The Sand Springs Police Department says they received a call around 12:15 pm Nov. 6 about a woman stealing a vehicle. Sand Springs Police Department officers responded and began chasing the suspect.

The woman, 41-year-old Stacy Ann Bunsey, pulled into Northwoods Elementary School in a stolen vehicle. A second officer then pulled in behind the suspect, blocking her in.

Sand Springs Master Patrol Officer Matt Stacy indicated that he was initially planning on setting up a tire spike system to disable the suspect vehicle.

Approximately three seconds after standing up outside the vehicle the suspect rammed his patrol unit. At this time Officer Matt Stacy drew his weapon and fired two rounds.’

The police officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital after the incident.

Deputy Chief Mike Carter said in a press release: ‘It was approximately three seconds after standing up outside his vehicle that the suspect rammed his patrol unit.

‘When the officer saw that the suspect was coming at him, he abandoned the plan to retrieve the tire spikes and instead drew his weapon, not knowing of the suspect’s intention to hurt or kill him.’
