Brittany Maher-Kirk’s mum recently posted her cat an advent calendar, and for a joke wrote the name of the cat – Ted Maher-Kirk Lindsey – as the recipient.
No one was home to pick up the package when it arrived except Ted who was asleep, so it was taken back to the local Post Office.
Ted doesn’t have an ID so cannot retrieve the package.
Brittany, from London, said: ‘I’ve got to ring up the Post Office Head Office and explain that my mother has sent the cat an advent calendar, addressed to the cat, and he can’t pop in to pick it up himself or lend me his ID to do it for him…’
So if if you are going to post Christmas presents to your cat or dog this season make sure you pick it up in their name, so you have a happy pet.
