Louis Vuitton’s Creative Director, Nicholas Ghesquiere, has confirmed (well, more or less) singer Selena Gomez as the new face of the iconic luxury brand.
With a statement expected to be released soon, Selena Gomez has been giving us hints for months at the impending Louis Vuitton venture. She recently appeared on the cover of Vogue Brazil with their Creative Director Nicholas Ghesquiere and captioned the picture (above), which she posted on her Instagram, ”Exciting things coming with this brilliant man.”
Nicholas Ghesquiere appeared on the ‘Le Petit Journal’ show in France where he confirmed Gomez would be working with the fashion house but did not verify details or when we would expect to know any further details on the deal. The singer, who’s currently on her Revival Tour, is the most followed person on Instagram with over 82 million followers to date therefore the endorsement is expected to bring a wealth of focus on the brand and attract a more younger clientèle with suave style. Selena has done various sponsorship deals lately but has yet to front campaigns for high end fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton.
Back in May at the Met Gala Ball, the singer wore a Louis Vuitton gown (pictured above) which attracted a lot of attention and sparked rumours of an upcoming deal between the artist and the brand. Here’s hoping we get our hands on extra campaign shots soon.
