As the plane loses altitude, a glorious skyline appears. She lands safely in a jiffy, on a runway that kisses the mighty Pacific ocean.

It is easy to fall in love with San Francisco, much too easy infact. For a city that is synonymous with being the tech abode of the world, San Fran has much more to offer the wandering tourist.

With its cobbled streets and curvaceous roads, read on to find out why anyone who visits this exquisite city leaves a piece of their heart behind.

  • Golden Gate Bridge

Probably one of the most fascinating bridges of the world, the Golden Gate bridge needs no introduction. Irrespective of the time or the day of the year,  be it sunny, windy or rainy , a walk along this 1.7 mile long bridge is sure to give you goosebumps. No word is fit enough to describe this bright flaming orange wonder!

  • Fisherman’s wharf


A popular must-see destination for the tourists, Fisherman’s wharf enchants with its hustle, bustle and colourful cheer. There is a lot to do here, from window shopping to watching the tirade of street artists perform. Also famous for its exemplary collection of sea food, do not miss the lazing sea lions along pier 39 and soak in the gorgeous views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate bridge!

  • China Town

Their website famously flaunts – ‘The largest China Town outside China’ and we don’t disagree. With its tiny streets offering palatable delicacies and exotic teas, the best way to explore China Town is to get there and simply walk around. In other words, get lost and be prepared to be enthralled 🙂

  • Alcatraz Island

With its notorious history, Alcatraz Island is located in the bay off the coast of San Francisco. Once home to dangerous criminals, this alluring island is now a National historic landmark attracting unique flora and fauna. The Pacific coast’s first working lighthouse is also set in this island. Best way to reach here is on one of the many ferries touring this island from Fisherman’s Wharf every single day.

It is easy to locate Ghirardelli Square, a short walk from the wharf following the seductive smell of chocolate will lead you right to this haven. Home for the ever famous Ghirardelli chocolates, this breezy little haunt is great to spend an evening around, with some amazing chocolate keeping you company of course!
