Protesters in Brazil call for President Rousseff’s impeachment

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators have protested across Brazil calling for the impeachment of  President Dilma Rousseff.

The protests come after a massive corruption scandal, an economic downturn, and recent polls showing that President Rousseff is the most unpopular President since the return to democracy in 1985 with an approval rating of less than 10%.

This is the third wave of protests against the President this year, with protesters wearing the green, yellow and blue colours of Brazil and sang the national anthem while waving banners saying ‘Dilma out’.

“We want things to change and if the people don’t go in the street that’s impossible,” said retired engineer Elino Alves de Moraes, who joined the march in Brasilia, told the BBC.
