iPhone cases that resemble hand guns are remarkably on the market and the US police have issued a warning to members of the public about buying them.
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office posted a series of images on their Facebook page, featuring people using the smartphone cases and showing the difficulty in telling the difference to a real firearm.

“Please folks – this cell phone case is not a cool product or a good idea,” says the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. “A police officer’s job is hard enough without having to make a split-second decision in the dark of night when someone decides without thinking to pull this out while stopped for a motor vehicle violation.”
Al Della Fave, spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson for the says the case looks like it has a real butt and trigger guard so when people carry their phone in their back pockets it looks like they are pulling out a concealed weapon.
They sell online for as low as $5.
