Personal trainer put on five stone so he could lose weight with his client

Adonis Hill purposefully piled on 70lbs (five stone) in three months so that he could motivate his client Alissa Kane who had been overweight most of her life.

Adonis, 35 from Brooklyn had overcome his own battle with weight and depression in his late twenties.

For three months, Adonis consumed 8,000 calories a day, eating doughnuts for breakfast, hot dogs or pizza for lunch, packets of Oreos as snacks, and McDonald’s for dinner, as well as drinking bottles of sugary fizzy drinks. He also stopped exercising.

The personal trainer consumed 8,000 calories a day, eating doughnuts, hot dogs, pizza for lunch and McDonald’s for dinner, as well as drinking fizzy drinks. He also stopped exercising.

Doctors advised him to stop as he was at risk of a heart attack.

 

The training journey was captured for US TV show Fit to Fat to Fit.

‘I was putting in a lot of work in the gym but eating right was hard this time because I was coming off an old addiction. I had to wean myself off unhealthy food,’ he told Buzzfeed.

He cut out the junk food and stayed on a high-fat, high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet to allow his body to burn fat more readily.

Alissa, meanwhile, swapped her heavily processed foods and takeaways for home-made stir-fries and snacks of porridge oats and fruit.

Adonis wrote on Instagram: ‘How did @alissabethkane lose almost 60 lbs in 4 months and ENJOY the process at the same time? …. It’s simple! Instead of asking her what are your fitness goals, I asked her: “what’s on your mind and what are your life goals?” I became her friend first then her trainer 2nd.’
