Oregon occupation: Police standoff leaves several members in jail and one member dead

Reports say that say that a member of the anti-government protest at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge was shot and killed during a standoff with police on Tuesday.

Another was shot and wounded and is now in hospital.

The shooting took place while the police were trying to arrest Ammon Bundy who was on his way to a community meeting in John Day, Oregon, as a guest speaker.

Everyone surrendered to officials except Ryan Bundy, Bundy’s brother, and Robert “LaVoy” Finicum, the spokesperson for the protest. Finicum was killed and Ryan Bundy sustaining a gunshot wound to his arm, according to The Washington Post.
