You may or have may not noticed that since the beginning of November more men have been sporting mustaches. November is the month chosen to raise awareness of the fight against prostate cancer. According to statistics, 1 in 8 men are sadly diagnosed with this cancer. Movember (“Mo” for mustache) is the way in which men all over can grow their best mustache and donate and raise money for the prostate awareness charities.
The concept ?
Men completely clean shave on November 1st and then leave their mustache growing for a month, some even style them into hilarious fashions (see image below)
In short, men proudly wear the mustache for the cause and it raises money and so much awareness for prostate cancer!
Powered on the Web, Facebook and Twitter, Movember is an annual event celebrated around the world, mostly by men but also by several women.
The idea :
The primary aim of Movember is to educate people on health issues that particularly those people who sadly have or have previously had prostate cancer. Fundraising, mustache parties, Facebook groups, YouTube videos and other web-buzz are used to raise money to fund research into prostate cancer.
Today wearing a mustache is less popular and it’s rather bold and it requires maintenance, but come on, this is for such a great cause!
What it takes is a man who demonstrates commitment, boldness and willingness to take under control their own health and reduce the risk of this cancer.
