Mother and son are found alive after plane crash in Columbia

A mother and her son who went missing, have been found five days later after their plane crashed in the jungle. Maria Nelly Murillo, 18, and her son who is five months old, were discovered by rescuers next to the crash site of the Cessna 303 plane in the Alto Baudo region.

Ms Murillo had some injuries and burns but her baby came out unscathed. They were  airlifted to a hospital in Quibdo.

The Cessna plane was carrying coconuts and fish cargo and was flying towards the town of Nuqui on the Pacific coast to Quibdo, the capital of Choco.

The pilot pilot, Carlos Mario Ceballos, was found dead in the cockpit.
