The Russian pilot Aleksandr Akhmadulin is “alive and well” after escaping to a Russian air base in Syria, it says.
His co-pilot and a marine involved in a rescue were killed.
Turkey have said that the jet had was in Turkish airspace but Russian President Putin says the plane was flying over Syrian territory.
The other pilot, Sergei Rumyantsev was killed from gunfire from rebels below while ejecting and parachuting down.
Tensions have escalated between Russia and Turkey, but the US, the EU and the UN have all appealed for calm.
