Lycamobile launches airtime transfer service

Lycamobile, the world’s largest international mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), announces its new airtime transfer service, which will allow customers to transfer credit to friends and family. This new Lycamobile service will allow customers to send a minimum of £1 credit to friends and family on any network instantly.

The service, will enable Lycamobile customers in the UK, France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Scandinavia, to transfer their pay as you go credit to other mobile carriers globally, with more countries soon to be added. Parents and friends now have the freedom to use their pay as you go credit to support international students or international travellers as they please.

In order to send the credit to any network in participating countries, customers have two options: they can either send credit by dialling a short code, or by logging into their ‘My Lycamobile’ account online. The amount transferred will automatically be converted into the national currency of the destination user.

Lycamobile chairman Subaskaran Allirajah said, “The number of people with relatives and friends in other countries – global families – is continuing to grow, and we have built our business on providing a service that works for them. By allowing our customers to transfer their pay as you go credit across networks and borders, we are making staying connected even easier. We’re excited to roll this new feature out as we know this is a service our customers have been asking for.”
