Is there anything Katy Perry can’t accomplish? The lady has recently hit 90 million followers on Twitter, set sail with Orlando Bloom, been named the richest female artist and performed at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Arguably, the release of her eponymous footwear collection will be one of the Rise singer’s highlights.
Every time the public or indeed Katy’s fans seem to think she has drifted from their radar, she comes along and does something equally as brilliant and exciting as her last achievement. Recently, she hit the headlines for her romance with actor Orlando Bloom and her song Rise, which is the sponsored anthem of the Rio Olympics 2016.
Katy Perry Footwear will launch in department/selected stores and online (for general public sale) in the Spring of next year, 2017, though it was already shown at the Fashion Footwear Association of New York in July where they witnessed the new brand that includes sneakers, pumps, sandals and stilettos; all of which we can imagine Katy herself getting behind. The coveted clogs will range in price from $59 to $299. The company with which Ms Perry is creating the line, Global Brands Group, said they both wanted to design the footwear with affordability but also quality in mind, which is most important to the modern day shoe lover. Katy told WWD:
It’s been a creative goal of mine to be a real contributor in the affordable fashion space. Launching a footwear collection felt like a natural first step for me. After years of investigating and researching partnerships to find the right fit for the debut of my line, I found that Global Brands most resonated with my artistic ideas. They understand my vision, my eye for detail, and have the international reach and resources to bring my canvas of ideas to life.
It is thought Katy will further expand her fashion empire in the future, assuming her footwear line will sky-rocket in terms of sales and publicity. With nearly 92 million followers on Twitter, we’re sure she’ll have a customer or two.
