If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! That’s the well-known phrase, and it seems that TV Chef, James Martin has taken the motto to heart. After ten years on BBC’s Saturday Morning Kitchen, Martin is set to leave for pastures new.
It has been reported that Martin will step down at the end of March and guest presenters will be drafted in from April. He has said via Twitter that it was “a great pleasure” to work on Saturday Morning Kitchen, but he will be moving on to new opportunities and enjoying a Saturday morning lie-in, something many of us take for granted!
The popular Chef who has took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2005 will surely be in demand for other shows as he is an experienced presenter. His decision to leave Saturday Morning Kitchen may have come as a surprise, but will bring fresh faces to our screens as a variety of different Chefs have the chance to showcase themselves and give the programme a new look.
James Martin Kitchen opened at Stansted Airport in April 2015 and he celebrated 20 years television in 2015. Departing from Saturday Morning Kitchen is unlikely to signal the last we see of Mr Martin!
