Hundreds run in stampede as false alarm spark panic captured live on air

A crowd was caught live on air running away following the paranoia of the attacks on Friday.

The confusion and panic was caused insensitively by fireworks, which people believed were gun shots.

They were showing their respects at the Place de la Republique.

A French security official said someone had reached out to police in the square out of panic and when officers arrived with weapons drawn, the crowd dispersed in fear.

Both officials are not allowed to be publicly named according to government policy.
