His name is Ludovic Boumbas. Ludo had come to Paris to celebrate a friend’s birthday, Houda Saadi, who turned 35 last friday. His act of bravery might have saved a woman’s life.
Mr Boumbas, 40, was out attending his friend Houda’s 35th birthday party on Friday night when gunmen sprayed bullets onto the terrace of La Belle Epique bar on Rue de Charonne in the 11th district in Paris.
Ludovic threw himself in front of female friend to save her life but she was hit by a bullet and eventually ended up in a critical condition in hospital. He paid for his bravery and selflessness with his own life. She is still in a critical condition and fighting for her life at hospital.
According to French Papernews Liberation, the Congolese man grew up in Lille and came to Paris to celebrate his friend’s birthday. Houda Saadi sadly died along with her sister Halima, 37.
Halima is understood to have left behind two young children aged three and six.
A further nine people from the attack aiming La Belle Epique bar – including the woman Mr Boumbas threw himself in front of – are said to be fighting for their lives in hospital.
