Today is the 14th of September and this date marks the late British singer Amy Winehouse 33rd birthday. 5 years after her tragic death her talent and music are still celebrated.
The singer who lived in the London borough of Camden and who was often referred to as the ‘Camden Queen’ tragically lost her battle with addiction in July 2011 at her home on Camden Square.
Thousands of individuals and artists have paid tribute to the singer whose death was extremely hard to digest.
Today, to mark the occasion, the Camden town area of London will be celebrating Amy’s life which proves that she is still very much so in our minds. The Camden market has teamed up with the Amy Winehouse foundation which was set up following her passing and which aim is to help people fighting addictions. A series of Amy-themed pop-ups will be honouring the singer’s music, life and style.
It all kicks off at 1pm so why not go and check it out.
