Germans say that US doesn’t respect freedoms

In a poll over half (53%) of Germans say that the United States governments does not respect the personal freedoms of its people.

In the US 51% said their government respected personal freedoms and 47 % disagreed.

The poll also showed that 45% of Germans polled had a negative view of the US, in comparison to 50 who had positive views.

“The U.S. receives largely positive reviews among many of its key NATO allies. About two-in-three Canadians have a favorable opinion, as do large majorities in Italy, Poland, France, the UK and Spain. The outlier is Germany,” the report stated.

“America’s image has become more negative in Germany over the last few years.”
