Capitalising on the success of Downton Abbey across the pond, one of its stars, Lesley Nicol has landed herself a recurring role in ABC series The Catch. The series centres on Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), a strong-willed forensics accountant who will stop at nothing to get to the truth.
Nicol played Mrs Patmore in all six series of Downton Abbey, her success in the show has led to roles in Supernatural and Once Upon A Time, she has also provided voice-over in Disney Junior series Doc McStuffins. She can currently be heard playing the returning role of the Fairy Godmother, again for Disney Junior, in Goldie and Bear.
Prior to starring in Downton Abbey, Nicol had already gained a long list of credits to her name on stage and on screen. She has appeared in Mamma Mia! in the West End, and a host of other musicals, too. She’s a versatile actress with a big heart, working tirelessly for charities such as Animals Asia and Medical Detection Dog, too.
No other details have been released about her role in The Catch, yet, but we are led to believe that it is substantial!
