Almost totally overshadowed by the clash involving two giants in Germany, another Brit is also in action this Saturday as James Degale makes the first defence of his IBF Super-middleweight title against Lucian Bute in Canada.
Bute, who was the former IBF title holder until he ran into a rampant Carl Froch back in 2012, is not expected to win having never recovered from the shocking loss. The rehab from that defeat was not helped when he lost on points to the heavy hitting Jean Pascal almost two years ago.
Degale and his team must feel confident having taken the fight in Bute’s backyard and anything but a swift Degale victory would be a surprise with most boxing pundits not predicting an upset. Having recently defeated the very talented Andre Dirrell for the vacant title this next encounter should not be anywhere near as challenging.
