Champions League preview – Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow

Champions League – Group B

7:45pm Tuesday 3rd November

Old Trafford

Will Van Gaal trade Martial for misfiring Rooney upfront?

October to November of 1992 was the last time United managed to go 4 games without scoring a goal. Times are dry for United upfront and losing this game against a Russian side could hinder their place in the knockout stage. The Red Devils have never won against a Russian side at Old Trafford and Van Gaal would hope history will not repeat.

Players to watch:

Anthony Martial

The young Frenchman went from zero to hero after gifting CSKA a penalty from a handball to scoring the United equaliser in the previous encounter. Martial is the spark United will need with Rooney yet to discover his well known form.

Seydou Doumbia

The last four goals scored by CSKA in Manchester have all come from Doumbia against Manchester City. He also scored against United in the reverse fixture in Russia.

Union Times prediction

With United’s defence we cannot see CSKA scoring, but with goals being dry for the Red Devil’s

we see this being a goalless draw.

Manchester United 0-0 CSKA Moscow
