#BrusselsLockdown Cat Photos Take Over Hashtag After Social Media Blackout

On Sunday, Belgian Police requested that no one tweeted anything that could help terrorists amid fears that the country could face an imminent attack.

“For safety, please observe radio silence on social media #Bruxelles ongoing police operations. Thank you,” Belgian Federal police tweeted.

Belgium over the weekend was on lockdown, amid a manhunt for suspected Paris attacker Salah Abdeslam.

So to confuse terrorists using twitter, citizens responded by flooding it with cats, lots of cats.
