If you are getting married this year but don’t want to spend a fortune on a wedding dress, you’ll be glad to know that some high street retailers are now offering exclusive, super affordable wedding collections.
ASOS and H&M are the latest brands to join the bridal business.
Earlier this month, online store ASOS debuted its first wedding collection.
ASOS designer director Vanessa Spencer explained that this collection was inspired by the customers, and the designers ‘have trawled vintage archives to find a bridal outfit for everyone’; she added that the prices are affordable so that it’s possible to for the customer to buy multiple outfits.
Composed by 18 pieces, including classic lace maxi and midi dresses, jumpsuits and co-ords, the prices range from £65 to £300, with some bridal accessories from £8.

As for H&M, the line will be available from April 7 and will be part of the Conscious Collection, meaning that the dresses will not only be affordable with prices from £149.99 to £399, but also eco-friendly.
‘Working with innovative sustainable materials and ornate embellishment, the collection is a layering of references, shapes and textures topped off by intensely decorative accessories and deco-inspired bijoux’, said the brand’s creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson.
So, what we can expect from this 35-piece collection are ethical materials like raw silk, organic silk and linen, different silhouettes and lots of bohemian influences: ‘A feast of lightness and embellishment materialised in dreamy, draped lines, for the bride wanting to be as beautiful as she is conscious.’
