At the grand age of 90, one of Hollywood much loved stars has passed away. Known for playing Raymond’s interfering mother, Marie, in hit American television series Everybody Loves Raymond, actress Doris Roberts has sadly died.
Her career did not ‘take off’ until she reached the age of 70, but she came into her own when landed the role of Marie in Everybody Loves Raymond. She’s also remembered for Christmas films, Mrs Miracle and she appeared in television series Melissa and Joey and Desperate Housewives. With three films in post-production, according to IMDB website, admirably, Roberts was working right up until her late years. The films are: The Red Maple Leaf, Old Soldiers and a short film called The Escort.
The sad news comes a year after Roberts’ on-screen grandson from Everybody Loves Raymond, Sawyer Sweeten, tragically committed suicide.
The actress is survived by her son from her first marriage, Michael Cannata Jr. This talented, larger than life soul will be much missed.
